Physiotherapy:

Consisting of three main elements, Massage, Joint Manipulation and Medical Electricity, treatment is aimed at rehabilitating the patient by reducing pain and swelling and restoring normal movement following an injury or long illness. Joint Manipulation or re-mobilisation as it is now called is perhaps the image most associated with traditional physiotherapy. Medical Electricity or Electrotherapy is the latest modality to be added to the Physiotherapists armoury.

Massage is now unfortunately, being used less and less by physiotherapists because it is highly labour intensive and time consuming. It continues to have a place here at the Centre because of the benefits it brings. It instils feelings of confidence and well being in the patient, it has the direct therapeutic effect of muscle relaxation (or stimulation) and is an ideal preparation for and complement or supplement to a second modality

Physiotherapy & Sports Injuries

Most people know that physiotherapists treat bad backs, necks and sports injuries.
In addition, if you suffer from:-

* Spinal problems
* Slipped disks
* Sciatica
* Joint disfunction

The Physio clinics can help.
Our Physiotherapists also work with

* Rehabilitation following surgery
* Treatment following fractures
* diseases of the Nervous System, e.g. strokes, MS and ME
* Chest conditions

We use mostly manual therapy and the best in electrotherapy to speed up the healing process and relieve symptoms
